EcoRotary Plants its 5,000th Endemic Tree!
Congratulations and Mahalo Eco Rotary for Planting 5,000 Trees at Gunstock Ranch!
Mahalo to Naomi Masuno, Pili Valderrama and the entire Eco Rotary team for restoring more than ten acres of native Hawaiian forest at Gunstock Ranch through the planting of 5,260 endemic trees. Over the next 50 years, these trees will sequester more than 2,500 tons of carbon and will prevent over $156 million in soil erosion — helping to keep our air clean and protect our reefs and marine wildlife for future generations to enjoy.
Pili Valderrama, President of the Eco Rotary Club of Kaka’ako said, “We have given life to a forest with our hard work. We have significantly contributed to serving our community, Hawaii, and our Planet. Thank you, [Rotarians and Friends], for helping us to fight climate change and improve our carbon footprint.”
As always, a special Mahalo to Dr. Camilo Mora of the University of Hawaii and his awesome team as well… this project would not be possible without your invaluable knowledge and tireless dedication to Hawaii’s natural environment.
Mahalo to all!
