The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort Partners With Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation Initiative To Plant 100,000 Indigenous Trees

The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort and the Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation Initiative (HLRI) have partnered to help create the first-ever Hawaiian Legacy Forest to be on a resort property. Located on the sun-dappled Kohala Coast and nestled on the bluffs overlooking the award-winning Hapuna Beach, portions of this resort will be transformed back into endemic Hawaiian forest. Named after the life-giving underwater springs that the resort grounds are gathered upon (“Hapuna” or “Spring of Life”), this Legacy Forest will be providing a “Spring of Life” for some of Hawaii’s rarest and most iconic plant and bird species.

In partnership with the Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation Initiative, The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort will help restore this pristine environment through the planting of 100,000 Milo Legacy Trees and we invite you to join in. You can sponsor your Legacy Tree at the front desk or visit the Legacy Forest in person and plant your Legacy Tree. Create memories that last a lifetime--plant your legacy and give a gift that grows grander year after year.
