Never too young to plant trees and contribute to Hawaii's reforestation efforts!

On Saturday, September 16, 2023, Eco Rotary of Kaka'ako planned a volunteer work day and it was refreshing to see young ones pitching in and hard at work.  The 3-year-old toddler helped his Mom for a while then decided that he could plant trees on his own!  His 13-year-old sister braved spiders, ants, and hopping toads!  A college freshman majoring in biology got first hand experience in the field.  At the end of the event, 200 native milo, ma'o, and kou trees were planted. Native plants act as a firebreak by preventing non-native invasive plants from taking over that could foster wildfires.

Mahalo Eco Rotary!
